“THE ROCKFORD COSMOPOLITAN CLUB GOES THE EXTRA MILE FOR CRUSADER CLINIC”
The Rockford Cosmopolitan Club has remained steadfast in its commitment to improve the lives of persons with diabetes and have continued their support by donating $10,000 to the Crusader Clinic/Cosmopolitan Diabetes program. In addition, the club has made a pledge payment, $2,500, as part of a $75,000 commitment in pledges from the Club’s members, friends, and the Charities Board as part of the Rockford Education for Diabetes Funds (RED). This support will go towards the “Cosmopolitan Patient Education Center,” a dedicated resource to assist patients in their battle with diabetes and other chronic diseases.
Since 1994, under the leadership of the Rockford Cosmopolitan Club and with the grateful contributions made by Cosmopolitans, more than $330,000 has been raised for the Crusader Clinic/Cosmopolitan Diabetes Program.
The Crusader/Cosmopolitan Mobile Diabetes Program offers free blood sugar testing and informational talks as a community outreach project. Since its inception, the program has administered over 4,000 free blood sugar tests at more than 175 events. Nearly 15% of persons tested had an elevated blood sugar level.
Last year the Crusader Clinic/Cosmopolitan Diabetes Program was identified as one of five Major Cosmopolitan Diabetes Programs by Cosmopolitan International.
The mission of the Rockford Cosmopolitan Club is to benefit the Rockford community and Cosmopolitan International by providing its members with charitable, civic and social activities. For more information about the Rockford Cosmopolitan Club visit www.rfdcosmo.org.
